The National Account Aggregates are important statistics of the South African economy as it indicates the performance or growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP), i.e. economic growth. The National Account Aggregates are aligned to the Standards of National Accounts, suggested by the United Nations, for comparison purposes, and contain information about aggregate production, aggregate expenditure and aggregate income in the economy. The multiplier is used to determine the impact of an initial investment on national income.
