In this week’s lesson we will cover the different modes of transport commonly used in the tourism industry. A comparison of the modes of transport will be made in terms of reliability, safety, comfort, cost, speed and carrying capacity. For each mode of transport, the advantages and disadvantages will be looked at. For tourists to travel to their destinations of choice or to the attractions, they will choose a combination from the four main modes of transport which are road, water, air and rail. At times tourists choose local extraordinary modes of transport like hot air balloons.
